Watching the prices this week and being 15 years into the lifespan of my current TV and Receiver I decided this week was the time to pull the trigger on both. I always knew when I bought one I would need the other because of limitations with inputs at 2.1. Being a dedicated Sony fan as my only other two TVs were Sony I’ve been getting frustrated wry their lack of future proofing their TV inputs for multiple components. Hence why only TWO 2.1 HDMI INPUTS IS UNACCEPTABLE at this point in the game.
After watching your review of the LG 65 INCH G4 EVO OLED TWICE…. I decided if the price was right it would be my next TV.
Well prime day prices and the LG website and best buy all had it at $2800. $600 less than usual. BUT I found an open box buy on the Best Buy website that listed one at $2500! I decided I wasn’t comfortable with shipping a TV through Amazon like last time (that was a hassle free delivery 15 years ago but a lot had changed since then) I knew I needed to get a look at this open box buy at the store. These types are never within the range the website requires you to be in. And they DON’T ship open box buys. But unbelievably there was one 20 miles away. I decided to make the trip so my son and I could determine if it was possible to take it in the car. The website showed it verified and certified excellent condition by the geek squad… But I still expected the to be no box…
Imagine my shock when it basically looked like the TV had not even been removed from the box! Everything included. And the free shipping! Thank goodness because I wasn’t going to buy it if I couldn’t get it home. I might have had to open the box and put the TV directly through my trunk and backseat π
Anyways…. I’m excited to say my first 4K tv is coming we next week PLUS I grabbed an open box buy off the receiver I wanted on the Best Buy website. Free shipping again.
$2100 retail and grabbed the open box buy for $1850.
Sony STRAZ5000ES Premium ES 11.2 CH 8K A/V Receiver will be matched with my LG G4. Looking forward to finally having Atmos and DTS X in my home theater setup! π€

Hello, nice video, I live in europe and I want the hisense 55u7k which is a bit different than the us version, it has the vidaa u7 os and is a bit less bright, idk if there are any other differences but the main one is the os, whats your opinion on the vidaa os? should i get it or should i get something else? could you make a similar video for the european market!!!

Content looks great, some looks terrible. Avengers endgame was on tnt last night and it looked aweful. I just canβt tell if Iβve got a bad panel or I just donβt know how to correct the settings. Iβm on the fence about the whole thing maybe returning my TV. I did use recommended settings watching several YouTube videos, but it only makes the picture marginally better. I just wonder if Iβm suffering from older bad technology and Iβm not used to inky blacks as some put it.

Still no Bravia 9 review by you guys or HDTVTest, very dissapointing. I really need a detailed comparison between the Bravia 9 and A95L before the Bravia 9 85 inch goes off of sale. I’ve already missed the A95L 77 inch sale. Hopefully the review video and the comparison video will be out soon, assuming you guys do a comparison. Hi Caleb, have loved your reviews for yrs as your are 1- helpful… 2- Informative… 3- unbiased… and entertaining …… for a couple yrs I have thought of/ wanted to update my TV (still have an old 2011? non smart Samsung plasma and a decent mid range or so i thought back from 2016 Vizio M60-C3) but other factors stopped me short ….. FINALLY I pulled the trigger yesterday on 65" Samsung S90C oled as my wife said it WAS TIME … and I took advantage of what seemed too good of an offer on it (Costco but other retailers also had it) ……. then saw this video and only reinforced my purchase as I learned maybe this is actual BEST time of yr to buy as buyers can still get last yr’s model vs Black Friday where deals also very good but unlikely to get that EXTRA savings from last yr’s model …. thanks for your help over the yrs n continue informing/ helping buyers n entertaining us
I Agree ππ― with Buying the 2024 TCL 98 inch Q651G for $2000.00 it is a Great π TV and a Great Deal.
I wish you would have mentioned that it is a Serious Upgrade from the 98 inch S5 from last year.
The 2023 Inch S5 was a Non QLED 4K TV. It Looked Very Good and was worth $2000.00
But this Year the Q6 Model is a Huge Step Up. It is at least 40% Brighter (With QLED vs the S5 LED) making the Colors really Pop, they are Much more Vibrant.
It also has what TCL claims, Reviews I have seen agree, is a Significantly upgraded Microprocessor. This makes the Q6 Model Miles ahead of Last Year’s S5 which is a Very Highly Reviewed TV.
I Disagree with the Rest of your Analysis. There is No Way I am Buying a 2023 TV for these Prices.
Why Not? The 2024 TV Models are a Huge Upgrade over the 2023 TV’S.
The Hisense K Model TV’s are far Behind the N Models. The U6N, U7N, and the U8N are easily Twice as Good as the 2023 K Models. Each Model is 50% Brighter and they All have an upgraded Microprocessor too.
For TCL and Hisense it is a Huge Mistake to buy the 2023 Models with the 2024 Models being Far Superior.
If Price is the Only Consideration then People should Buy Amazon Fire TV’S. They are inexpensive and Look OK….
Also Black Friday is a Better time to Buy TV’S to Get the Best Deals.
Amazon Prime Days are Not when that Year’s TV’S are Featured and On Sale.
Amazon Prime Days is Just, Mostly, Clearing out Last Year’s Items. There are Very Few Current Items on Sale.
I would love for you to compare the bravia 9 to other oled models. That’s where I’m having trouble in making a decision of what to buy. Great reviews!
